We have had the desire to use real flowers for a few years now so last April, having just moved to Devon (the lushest part of the world I’m sure) I started collecting flowers, foliage, grasses, leaves and even the odd insect with the view of incorporating them when redesigning pieces of vintage furniture.
These antique wardrobes have good “bones” but some examples need some serious love. The walnut veneer is spectacular but often needs to be restored to its natural beauty. The design, a whimsical blossom tree design compliments and highlights this. Hand painted textured branches and the use of dried hydrangea petals as the blossom works beautifully, the range of colours is stunning. Adding ferns and a selection of grasses allows the main part of the wood grain to shine whilst still enabling the design to stay cohesive.
Internally, we really wanted to achieve as much of a ‘wow factor’ as we did externally. It was only ever going to be one finish, brilliant gold! As you open the doors you are met with a lustrous gold glow, it’s such a subtly bold impact but suits the piece magnificently.
We hope you will agree with me in saying this bespoke wardrobe really is a statement piece of furniture. Pushing the boundaries with artistic techniques to create those one off statement pieces is what we do best at Rubar and Scandi. We do hope you like it as much as I have enjoyed creating it.

Step 3 - Delivery. We take the hassle out of delivery for you by organising it ourselves, so that you don’t have to. You can sit back and relax whilst your piece of furniture is created and then have it delivered direct to your door.
